Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Today's Big Purchase - Grill for RV Tailgating - Have You seen this out and about?

Today was an awesome day of starting to actually buy some of the 'wish list' items  for our motorhome.

Since we are 6-days and counting from picking it up, we figured we better start down the list. I guess we are realizing this is actually going to happen!!

We have our eye on this grill at Lowe's and went out today and picked it up.

I'm a systems analyst by trade so always have to analyse my options ad nauseum so I hope this holds up to its reviews and comparison shopping.

Our next three years working up to a more full time lifestyle will include 12 weeks out of the year following my son playing football for Eastern Illinois University (Tony Romo's alma mater). My intent is that this grill will handle our tailgate events with the large cauldrons of soup or lots of burgers but at the same time work well for sausage and pancakes at the campsite.

Ken intends to hook it directly to the lp gas tank in the Sportscoach.  He's been told by our dealer, no problem.  I assume this is the common way to do gas grills with motorhomes...yah???

Has anyone seen this grill out and about? Heard anyone with one talking about it?

Congrats! The accessory buying binge is a whole lot of FUN!

I have not seen your grill choice in action. For high volume tailgate grilling you might have a winner - for that phase of your RVing. Afterwards, your grilling needs might change. It looks to be a very "clean line" design showing you have done the homework. For me, portability, or should I say RVability was my most important grill criteria. To me this meant foldable like a suitcase with no legs/parts/etc extending from the exterior of the package, no briquettes/lava rock/loose ceramic burner materials, rustproof construction (aluminum or stainless steel) and a true fold-n-go design.

I found this BBQ Grillware model at Lowes as well (for only $89 believe it or not) to meet my definitions above. Though TOO small to entertain with, this completely stainless steel package clamps together with totally clean exterior lines in the form a small suitcase, has nothing on the exterior to catch/scratch/rip stuff stored next to it, has a completely stainless steel burner (meaning nothing falls out when tipped or stored upside down) and best of all beats every other similar "RV" model in price by a country mile. And it's available at your local Lowes hardware store.


I added a propane quick connect fitting like this to my rig meaning I just open the grill and click its hose onto the propane line and I'm ready to grill. I also added a gas shut off valve similar to this one at the quick connect fitting as I don't trust the quick connect to maintain a gas proof seal in an RV environment.

OH MY, YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THE BIGG gASS GRILL!!!  WE GOT ONE LAST SUMMER AND USED IT AT "OKTOBER FEST" IN LA CROSSE TO DO SIX DOZEN BRATS DURING THE PARADE TO FEED THE GROUP.  WE ALSO USED IT AT "CHEESEDAYS" IN MONROE, WISCONSIN TO DO OMELETTE'S IN A BAG FOR 25 PEOPLE FOR BREAKFAST.

MARY MAKES A PIZZA CRUST IN THE BREAD MACHINE, AND WE DO INDIVIDUAL GRILLED PIZZAS IN THE GRILL BOX WHICH HAS A CAST IRON GRATE PERFECT FOR BROWNING UP THE PIZZAS. A BIG HIT AT OUR ARIZONA PATIO ****TAIL PARTIES!

WE ALSO ORDERED DIRECT FROM CAMP CHEF AND GOT TWO RED SHELVES FOR BOTH SIDES OF THE GRILL, THAT STURDY AREA IS NICE FOR FOOD PREP, EXTRA PANS, AND COOKING UTENSILS.  THE BLACK STORAGE BAGS MAKE THE STOVE LOOK LIKE A LARGE, AND HEAVY, SUITCASE FOR STORAGE.

YOU'RE GONNA LOVE YOUR NEW BIGG gASS GRILL !!!

We have the 2 burner one and have the BBQ box and grill accessories as well. We love ours. My husband loves to fish and we do fish frys alot with ours. We also have started making homemade french fries again (maybe not such a good thing but good to eat) and we love it for that as well.

I thinkyou will really enjoy it.

I am ordering the Cobb BBQ, have done quite abit of research. Just dont like the propane taste.
I prefer the use of charcoal or bricquets. This uses 6-8 only. The patent is from overseas.

Has anyone tried it?

we've had our Cobb since last November and like the size.  I also purchased the wok so we could cook more outside.

it's fast and efficient!

Hi Kelly,
We have one and no longer use it.  6-8 bricquets really doesn't give off very much heat and doesn't last very long. Also it's really not grilling, you cook on a solid plate, it's more like frying.
You can have mine for $20 + shipping if you're interested.

Just a note on quick disconnects.  The cut off valve is necesarry because on the road they will leak slightly.  Also make sure that if they are mounted so that they are exposed to the elements that you cap them because dirt and junk seems to gravitate towards LP connections.  We wouldn't want your BBQ messed up with dirt sent up the control valve from a dirty QD.  Been there and done that.

The Grill is one of our favorite accessories.
