I have been reading RV Dreams for several months now, and have picked up a lot of information here. When I saw the new forum, just had to jump in! We (Carol & Art) are "goonabees" September 2007. We have been researching the lifestyle about 5 years now, and feel we have a good plan in place, but still there are new questions that keep arising. We purchased our first RV in January 2005 (Pleasure Way 2004), and we call it our RV 101learning tool. We love it! We will trade up to a class A next year when the condo sales, even if it is before I am able to retire. There is a nice RV park not far from work where we could park long term if necessary. Art retired last year, and has taken several extended trips without me, so he is now quite experienced. Anyways, we are putting together our list of unanswered questions, hoping some of you have some answers for us. Thanks in advance!

Actually, we have been looking at this in Moscow, Idaho next July. Our problem is going to be timing. The condo goes up for sale in March, and if it sells quickly we will be forced to buy the RV at that time. Even so, there is so much else to learn there, that we still want to make it. Do you have any idea how quickly the classes fill up?

Classes for LOW fill up at varied rates, depending upon the location and the publicity they receive. I would call 866-569-4646 and ask. Great people, and they will be glad to help you.
Another thought, it may well worth your time to fly to an earlier session of LOW to gain the knowledge before buying the RV. There were a number of people who did this earlier this year. Good luck!

Well it sounds like you guys have so much excitment in your lives and so many decissions to make. I have just posted my first post and am new to this forum but I agree, I have learned so much from H&L's site!! Our family is in Utah and we have lived there in the past. They are in Cashe Valley and we go there at least once a year. I dream of being there with Grandma and Grandpa with our motor home and be able to help them out since they are getting up there. So do you have any advise for some one who still has 5 years before hitting the road? I am already 'downsizing' so I can live simpler and do not have to face it all at once. I read everything and the probably the biggest thing is we are so focused on getting out of dept, not buying anything that is not needed, and getting rid of anything we don't need. Well good luck on the sale of your home. Carol

Hope your visits to Cache Valley are in the summer!!! Seriously, it is gorgeous there any time of the year, just mighty cold in the winter. Sounds like you've got a good start on your planning. Have you read any of the books written by some of the fulltimers? Go to RVBookstore.com, there are some great ones out there that I have read 2-3 times. The toughest task I've had so far, was deciding what to do with the things that will eventually go to my kids and grandkids. I was able to get all of them together a few days after Christmas, so I prepared my list, decided on specifics for each of them, then emailed the remaining list to each of them, with instructions to rank each item in the order of importance to them. I ordered pizza for the gathering and had all of the stuff on display for their parusal. At the gathering, I explained why each item was important to me, and why I was giving it to whoever. After all was said and done, I felt totally liberated and ready to move on with our goal - Full Time September 2007 !!!!

Oh my gosh! What would I be doing right now if we were leaving in Sept!!! You must be so excited. I so happy for you. I don't know if you watch Oprah but yesterday they had a show on attracting the positive into your life. I believe that is what I am doing. AND if is more than just dreaming about what you want - it is about doing it. I hope you keep posting and letting us know what you are up to as you get on your way. carol

I just read your response to my husband, and he responded with something he just saw on RFD, Future Farmers of America. The speaker said basically, ask your brain: "What If?" "Why not?" Your brain will not even begin to contemplate the question until it is asked. As I think about this, I realize this is the thought process that has gotten us this far. As for a progress report: Christmas tree and decorations to be donated to charity, then do the paperwork to establish residency in South Dakota. We're in the countdown, and its going fast!
