I seem to spend a lot of time washing and waxing my Prowler and I still have black streaks that will not come clean. I have used soap so powerful it took some paint off. There has got to be a better way.
I have cleaned the roof a couple of times..... One thing I do know is safety should be foremost on anyone's mind when they are on the roof of their rv. I slipped on my wet roof and took a hard fall. They had to put Humpty back together again and now I am very careful when I have to get on the roof for anything.

An exterior cleaning tool I found most useful is the $20 or so Black & Decker Power Scrubber. I use the fine (light blue colored) ScotchBrite pad scrubber and a squirt of Formula 409 and all the black goes away completely effortlessly (test first if you have a full paint job). Even better is the funny looking scrubber tool with the bristles extending radial-ly from the hub. Your first reaction is what is that scrubber used for? This is positively the most ideal tool for cleaning that nasty caulk line between your edge moldings and the camper body. Like magic in seconds those caulk lines look brand new. It also only take a quick wipe with a rag to finish up meaning no water is wasted in this endeavor! Campground landlords can smile that I am not washing with their water.

Dollar stores sell a product called AWESOME that wipes the black streaks off without any scrubbing. It costs a dollar!

The Mr Clean sponge also works for black streaks.

AWESOME is really good, but be careful using it full strength on some painted surfaces and around any decal strips. It can damage them. Better to use it on a sponge/rag or dilute it some.
Best Regards!

I'm sitting inside in my jammies while two guys power wash and wax our MH. We've never had this done but it is looking BEAUTIFUL! We are parked for a few months in sunny Hemet CA and had planned to do this ourselves as usual. But several weeks ago Jim injured his shoulder and it is still not feeling 100%. I kept pressuring him to bite the bullet and have the MH done by someone else.
Yesterday we came home and the neighbors were getting their coach beautified so Jim talked to the guys and ...voila...bright and shiny coach. I think he realized that the $250 to get the coach cleaned was cheaper than the $400 and more visit to the chiropractor to fix a stressed shoulder.
And the black streaks were gone in a flash :) Maybe we could get rid of all the cleaning supplies we've collected and we'd have room for the stuff in storage
