Greetings from Northern VA, 30 miles due west of crazy DC! My wife, Marti, and I are avid RV travelers, even if we are not yet full timers. We are on out third motorhome, a 2003 Winnebago Adventurer 35U and are researching the next one, which will be our fulltime rig. We average about 13K miles a year, doing extreme vacation traveling, hard to get time off (we both work) at the same time. When we do, we go for it. In the last several years, we've traveled to Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls, Branson, MO, Key West, Disney World Ft Wilderness, Mt Rushmore (twice) and last January to Quartzsite, AZ and meet the Fulltime Class of 2005. We rarely have more that 10 days for any one trip, so that is why so many of our photographs are through the windshield at 60 MPH.
I am an RVholic, and love it, I'm not looking to be cured, either. I get just about every RV magazine known to mankind and spend several hours a day on the Internet reading forums, RV news, comparing new models, etc. I really, really (REALLY) enjoy Howard and Linda's OUTSTANDING website and have been onboard since the beginning. I've learned alot of things, got many new ideas and in my opinion, their daily journal is the best one out there And special thanks for the new forum, it is a GREAT addition.
I am in the U. S. Coast Guard and in my position I travel alot, not just the country but the world. Most recent overseas trip was to Bahrain, Kuwait and Iraq. It was really hot (125 degrees)! Leaving Sunday for several days down in New Orleans. In case you didn't know, a "Snipe" is a nickname for a naval engineer. The "Old" is, well you can figure that out...
Looking forward to retiring in the near future and hitting the road at a slower pace. I hope to never take another airline flight after I hang it all up.
