Wanted to say hello and relate how great it is to find a site that is so member friendly without the constant challenging and disagreement with posts.
We had been camping/rving most all of our life. Started in tents in the mid 20's with the folks, progressed thru converted luggage trailers, tents again, vans, and in the early 80's started DP MH. Have gone back to gas MH's around '88.
The down side of my story is that I became a widower about 2 months before 86 birthday and our 65 anniversary. We were married when I was a 19 year old commissioned army pilot. The only reason to memtion this was that 63 year old daughter related that the reason I have been unable to cope is I have never been alone before. Been retired for over 25 years and we enjoyed our travels all over the states and the world. Been to every place on this Earth with the exception of Australia.
Although we had contemplated getting back on the road full time, right now the MH has been sitting in the garage for a years and half gathering dust jnow I just can't seem to get interested. Maybe I'll just lurk a little longer to get my interests up by listening to all the enjoyable post by this great group of fulltimers or wannabees.
Enjoy every minuet you have.

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your post. This is a great site with many people who are very friendly and nonconfontational. My husband and I recently went to a sixty fifth wedding anniversary for a couple that used to take their children and all of the neighborhood children camping. They are wonderful people that instilled a love of the outdoors and adventure in many of us. I hope you are encouraged to venture out again and hopefully will meet up with some of the very nice RVing community!

John,
It's good to talk about what your going through right now, it will help the healing.
I have been with my wife since I was 14 (50 years now) so I can appreciate your loss.

Jomago; sorry to hear of your loss, it has got to be very diffcult for you. Hang in there and get out with family (and others) as much as you can. Maybe some day you will feel like hitting the road again, give it a little time. May the road always be smooth and your campsite level, and maybe one of these days our paths will cross.
