Hey everyone!
Seems so wonderful to be able to say....We can see light at the end of the tunnel...We have about 7 to 8 years to go: We have 3 very active kids involved sports. We try whenever possible to take trips in our 5-wheel. When we got it 4 years ago, when took lots of long wonderful trips out west. Now our trips seem to be getting shorter and shorter. Its hard to get away when every child in family has to be in 3 different directions and absolutely can't miss a practice or that's the 'end of the world' for them! We love to camp, and the kids love it too but, its getting very hard to leave home because of their active schedules.
So with that said, we keep dreamin for the day when we can see the light at end of tunnel. We have a lot of time to plan and save!!! Any suggestions about things we should be planning or thinking about over the next 7 to 8 years ? I know that by that time, we will want another RV. Our 5-wheel has a bunk house, which we won't need. I keep thinking that we will need a sofa bed so that if the kids want to join up they can.
Thanks, and Linda/Howard keep up the great work!

Those sports sure do get in the way. We only have one child involved in soccer and baseball. I love watching him play, but it sure does take up most of the summer. Actually soccer never ends. You just have to miss some of the practices. We have 6 years left before we can consider fulltiming. We are getting our finances in line now so we will be able to. We may have to workcamp part of the time but doing much less stressful jobs and just part of the year. At least that is our plan. Right now we camp as much as we can (2-3 week long trips and several long weekends). We are looking forward to the freedom of fulltiming!!

When dealing with kids in sports, it never ends. Even after they leave the nest you have a very small window of time to "get out there" before you become a grandparent. That's where Tam and I are right now. We didn't make the move to fulltime before getting involved with our grandsons. Now it is too late. The "hooks" have been deeply set and we know we won't leave them until they leave High School.
We have two grandsons (12 & 9) that are both in two/three different sports each year. We love watching them practice and play, and being with them. We "watch" them at our house often when the parents have a schedule problem, and we have great relationships with them. They look up to us for guidance and want us to attend their school functions etc.
Now who could leave that behind?
We are also assisting Tam's 86 year old mother, who is still living alone in her home.

If we leave after our son graduates from highschool we have several years before the sports start with grandkids. We hope we have no surprises.
