I know AM Solar has been mentioned on here and have gotten a lot of great reviews but they are too far away and was looking for someone closer to Colorado. Does anyone know of any other solar installers I could contact?

My husband, Bill, installs solar as a subcontractor for RV Solar Solutions.
He installed Howard & Linda’s system integrators their new RV. We will be at the rally, if you are going.
We will not be in Colorado this year, but if you are willing to come east to PA, we will be there most of the summer.
Hope this helps!

I have heard of RV Solar Solutions and just sent in some information to them requesting a quote. I will not be at the rally but may be headed down to Texas this fall so may be able to catch up with you then.

Have you considered DIY? Most difficult part is adequate sized wiring from panels to controller and controller to batteries IMO.

I have heard too many horror stories of RV fires to want to attempt to do this myself. Better safe than sorry.

I haven’t heard of any RV fire traceable to a solar system.

Having install solar on my last 3 RV's since 2011, I don't think it is a simple or easy install to do a good job. The hardest part is indeed routing the wiring down from the solar panels to the solar controller. But fastening the solar panels to the roof, requires paying attention to detail and making sure they are secure so they don't fly off.
Also very important to properly size the wires from the panels to the controller and then on to the batteries. Lots of details to pay attention to. Also needing to assemble the cable ends and install circuit breakers of the proper size is important.
None of this is hugely complicated, but it does take a very good understanding of low voltage elect and wiring and a lot of research and a good bit technical capability.
Also not to be overlooked is the ability to climb up on the roof and doing all the work w/o falling off. Not easy for many folks.

It used to be common between Quartzsite and Yuma Arizona on US95. Bad installers are common in that area. I suspect if it happens now on US95, someone picks up the panel and uses/sells it.

I use the bougerv solar panel for rv. Excellent Product, never thought that solar panels could be so soft and thin. I heard BougeRV CIGS Solar Panels won't be damaged, so I put them on the floor and checked the product after stepping on it and there are no scratches and cracks, which is great.
