Starting to look at our plans for 2020 travel season. Think we will explore the Carolin’s and Eastern Virginia area.We like to spend 1-2 weeks at each stop and never like to travel more than 200 miles at a time. Any suggestions would be welcome. We travel in a 43’ 5th wheel so parks need to be big rig friendly. We plan to leave Williston Florida May 1

Just a quick thought, spring storms in the Eastern States tend to be the strongest ... we like to go counter clockwise as we travel the US. This puts us west of the Mississippi in the spring and east in the fall. It’s due to our evaluation of the weather patterns. YMMV.

We are west of the ROCKIES in the spring. Been caught to in my spring storms in Texas in the spring. But also agree, east coast is great in the fall. We went up one spring and dodged severe storms all the way up, especially in the Carolinas. Much better coming down in the fall.

To avoid some of the early spring weather issues I was thinking of heading over to Daytona Fl. first then up to St.Augustine Fl. then Hardyville S.Carolina this would take care of most of May.

We spent a week recently at Blythe Island Regional Park in Georgia. Our site was over 100’ long and very nice.

If you're a history/Civil War buff there are a ton of battlefields within 100 miles of DC. I didn't realize that until I spent about 14 months in DC. Also, if you're in the DC area don't miss the Smithsonian. As for places to stay I can't be much help, I spent my time in the area in an apartment. You might also want to check out the Assateague ponies. While you're there don't miss the giant grey squirrels.

Not planning to go that high to DC. Already been there and done that.
