We have SBI as our mail service and 411 Walnut St is our address. When I went to change my address with the 2 credit cards we have, they insisted on a physical address. I could use SBI as our billing address, like when one has to put in zip code at a fuel pump. After a bit of discussion they said I could use a relative. Well my brother is moving and his new address won't be a private residence. We have other relatives, but would rather not use any of their addresses for this. For now I'm just gonna leave things as they are.
I know we're not the only ones, what have you done?

What is SBI, please?
Do they not have a physical presence anywhere? How would you get a package delivered to you?

Credit is a privilege, not legally required. Comply with the company’s requests went they ask.

Don't know what "SBI" is, but our Escapees mail service address works fine for USAA banking and credit cards (and for everything else, for that matter).

St Brendans Isle, same address Howard and Linda recieve their mail. Located in Florida
The credit card company stated, that for security one cannot have a private mailbox service be the physical address. Yes of course there is a building where our mail goes, but that apparently does not count.

SBI also has another address you can use. You need that to register to vote. That one may work for you. When we were in Florida last week getting our drivers license weren't to register to vote anthem are the ones that told us to contact SBI together address needed. Hope this helps.

Which bank is the CC with?
FWIW, we have Discover, BOA, and Chase, and none of them said anything about our Escapees address.

There are lots of credit card companies trying to get business. I'd switch to one easier to do business with.

JMHO, but the industry is moving toward requiring a physical address because federal regs are trending that way. Let's not forget who is writing the federal regs. It's in their interest to get compliance from you when it comes to tracking you and being able to put the touch on you if something happens in the credit world. Their game, their rules. Till then, just keep looking for more cooperative CC lenders while you can. Those us us that are not yet experiencing issues may find that changing in the foreseeable future. It's the a nature of the business and the way the economics of it all works. 50 years ago you could be all but invisible as an end user in the banking and lending world... look at it now.

Thanks, I will call SBI. We have amex and a cap one master card. Other than this, satisfied with them. We are almost at our 2 year FT anniversary and the issue first arose then. The infamous "they" said it had to do w homeland security. Seriously?one can get a vanilla cc and a burner phone. Big brother is out there, I think it's name is Google, keeps asking me about places I've been. However, I check Google reviews regularly.
This will work out, I'd like to keep it in the how important is this. In my OP, I stated that my brother was moving. He has moved many times in his adult life, 3 different times across the country w his family, now divorced over 10 years
He had 3 different careers.
I lived no more than 80 miles from where I was born and had the same job for 38 years at the same place. Laurie and I have been married for over 33 years.
Rich was diagnosed with MS about 12 years ago, a progressive type. At age 61, the system and his health are nessecitating a move into a nursing home.
Sadly ironic, the guy who always moved must now stay put. And the one year older brother is now traveling.
Be thankful for your health, everything else isn't as important.
