I currently have a 36' Winnebago class A, and want to downsize to less than 30 feet. My dad passed away recently and I'll be traveling more and will need to tow an approximately 20-24 enclosed trailer containing my Spyder and business material.
The floor plan would be great for me and I like that the truck is diesel, etc. I don't really need the 4 seats in the truck, but oh, well.
I have a few questions and would like to hear ya'll's ideas:
1. it doesn't have leveling jacks. Any ideas of a ball-park cost to buy and install those?
2. I think the price on this unit is too high, but have no idea what would be fair. What do you think?
3. It's built by a company that now only builds slide-in truck campers. https://www.amlrv.com Any info on this company you've heard of?
I'd appreciate any wisdom you can offer.
Thanks.

1. Nearly any problem can be solved by the application of sufficient cash. How much are you willing to spend to put out four pads for jacks instead of putting out no more than four 2 x 6 planks under the tires?
2. Try to find a similar unit at PPL. Since PPL is a volume consignment place, their prices are generally at the low end of the spectrum so that they can move more units. Also remember that the value of a thing is what a willing seller and a willing buyer agree it is. If it passes your inspection you can make an offer and see what happens.
3. There could be several reasons why they don't offer these anymore. Maybe they weren't selling enough to make it worth their while. Maybe Ford decided that they no longer wanted to work with them (or they no longer wanted to work with Ford), and no other company was willing to work with them, either. Maybe new regulations made it impractical to continue this line.
Is there an owners' forum for this company? If so, join it and ask questions there. The people on a brand-specific forum generally like their rigs, and know them well. They can answer your questions better than we can.

Since your Dad only recently passed and you have expressed no need to change RVs other than a desire for a shorter unit, I suggest waiting a while. I always counsel my clients to make no major moves after a death for six months minimum and preferably a year.

In my searching on RV Trader I found this:
