Hello all, though not new to camping I am new to this forum.
My wife and I have progressed through all the camping stages: Tent camping, popup, travel trailer and now 5th wheel.
Our current RV is a 2003 Carriage Cameo F35ks3 that we bought a month ago. We got a very good deal on it and sold our 1994 Gulfstream Tour Master 32 foot with a super slide. We really liked it but the memories of our 13 1/2 year old Golden Retriever camping in it with us were too much to ever camp in it again. We had her put to sleep in January and even typing this brings tears. So we decided to start fresh and build new memories in a "new" camper. I'll post how that goes after our first trip as true empty nesters.
Thank you,
Robert

Glad to have you here. This place is not as busy as some of the "competing" forums but frankly the information is a whole bunch better. I guess my point is, if I really want a good, responsible answer I come here, if I want entertainment I go to some other forums. Stay in touch and ask all the questions you'd like.

We need some opinions on a Nexus Viper25v. We will retire this coming year and we are considering the Viper for full time Rving. The Nexus brand should we consider it? Thanks

I took a tour of the Nexus factory a couple of years ago and was fairly impressed with their quality. The only reason I wouldn't purchase one of their diesel units was the Maxxforce engine, I have been warned away from them by every diesel mechanic and trucker I know, and I know several. The Viper uses the Ford F450 chassis and I haven't seen many if any complaints about that chassis. I have heard of some issues with V-10 exhaust manifolds but every chassis has it's issues. As for the coach itself, as I said, I was fairly impressed with their construction although I was looking at a Ghost and not a Viper. My suggestion would be to go to Elkhart and spend a few days doing factory tours, you learn a lot. Good luck.
