I just received our insurance renewal for our 5th wheel and was surprised by the 19.2% increase from Safeco through Miller Insurance. I am wondering if others have experienced the same thing? I have a call into Miller to discuss other options. Would love to hear about any recent experiences from forum members.
I got a competitve quote from another RV insurance broker - but was not pleased with his responsiveness. I'd perfer to stick with Miller - I feel they are responsive and really understand the RV insurance world - but a 19.2% increase seems excessive.

Yes, we also got a big increase from National General. It appears that many companies have stopped insuring full timers, so those that remain are taking advantage of the decrease in competition ... we also use Miller as our broker. If you learn anything of interest, let me know. Loyalty to an Insurance Company is loyalty misplaced. I'll change in second if a better offer comes along.

We renewed with National General via Miller back in October and we were also hit with a ridiculous 19.0% increase.

We are working with Cheryl at Miller Insurance and she found two somewhat competitive quotes for us. We are in the process of comparing the policies to make sure we are not giving anything up for a lower price.

We are full time RVers since 2016. We bought our first rv in 2014. We contacted Geico at that time and was told that they could insure our 5th wheel as long as we were not living in our rv full time. We were not at that time so we went with Geico for our RV, our F450 (this pulls our rv) and our F150 (which would never be able to pull our rv) and our motorcycle. When we went full time in 2016 we changed our F450 and our rv to a different company that would insure full timers. We left our F150 and our motorcycle with Geico. We even changed our address with Geico to our mailing address in South Dakota in 2016. No problems. I get a phone call from Geico today telling me that they didn’t like the address in South Dakota (three years later) and in order to keep my F150 insured at this address I would have to insure my RV with Geico. I calmly explained to the girl that the F150 does not pull the rv - the F450 does (which is not insured by them) and that Geico was not able to insure us full time. She was having none of of it. Insisting that we add our RV to the Geico policy or they would drop our F150 policy. She did not mention our motorcycle. I’m sure that cancelation is coming in the mail. She kept insisting that our F150 had to be parked at the South Dakota address EVERY night in order to use that address (unless our RV was also with Geico). I asked her if I was free to drive my vehicle anywhere in the U.S. and her answer was yes - as long as it was parked at my mailing address every Night! I asked her why Geico was blackmailing me into moving my RV with them when they told me in the past they would not insure full timers. She said she didn’t believe anyone from Geico would tell me that. And it was not blackmailing. I told her you can call it whatever color you want - it’s blackmail! Needless to say we are changing our F150 truck to our RV policy which is Progressive through Millers Insurance. Geico has been awesome to work with in the past. I have even recommended them to others. Never again. Never again. I called Geico back to make sure that was not a fraudulent call. Ha - I got to talk to the same gal again. Lucky me. Steer clear of Geico if you full time. 🧘🏻♀️Gwen 🤦♀️

Wife has informed me that our insurance through Miller Insurance with National General didn't go up much at all. I asked about coverage, and she said that it hasn't changed, so I don't know what the difference is.
By the way, on a recent trip to Idaho, we drove up to see and take pictures of the Columbia River Gorge. While we were up that way, we went out of our way to go to Lake Oswego and visit with the folks at Miller Insurance. Dang nice folks there.

This year wasn't a big increase (SD domicile), but the past 2 years have been pretty large. We increased our deductible which helped a lot.
We did get a quote from another broker this year, one of the one mentioned on the RV Dreams site but they wouldn't quote the truck, just the 5th wheel. For the small increase that we received we decided we wanted to keep them insured together rather than under 2 separate policies.
Just one of those things we evaluate every single year and update as needed. We've gone through Millers since we went full time and we've changed providers once to keep the rates as low as possible. Millers has been good at providing options for us to consider.
