Where to register an RV when you are a non-resident?

Aloha everyone...I have a very peculiar situation to query you with: I live in Hawaii, and am preparing to purchase an RV to full-time in the continental US. My question is this, which state or states allow you to register your rig without having to be a resident! Mahalo for any and all information.

I believe all states will allow you to register vehicles where they will be garaged.
That said, have you considered just registering in Hawaii and then travel. Our vehicles haven’t been in Texas in years. Next question is why do you want to keep domicile in Hawaii while traveling for several years? You can always move back and can keep property in Hawaii even if you move.

Thanks for the tip...I would prefer to register in Hawaii if at all possible, but I'm not sure I can get around the vehicle inspection requirement! I will know more when I call DMV on Monday. I am already 70, so I don't expect to full-time it for a number of years, maybe just a couple, and then bring the RV back here to nest in paradise.
I was just wondering if it's possible to register it as a non-resident in any of the 48 states, seeing as I am open to purchasing wherever I get the best shake!

We registered our motorhome in Tx. They also have a vehicle inspection requirement...but...Tx does not require the inspection before issuing registration paperwork, and gives you 3 days after you 1st enter Tx to get the rig inspected. If we had never passed thru Tx we wouldn't need the inspection. States do not enforce other states inspection requirements and still don't as far as I know. At any rate, it gives you something to check into as a possible solution...

Below is a link to the Escapees Club website about all things to do with setting up a domicile in Texas, also possibly SD & FL. They also have an excellent mail forwarding service. Escapees is an excellent RV club set up for all RV'ers.
