The question you would need to answer is the tongue weight of your trailer, which is generally 10%-15% of the total weight of the trailer. As I am not a fan of using anything mechanical to its limit if the tongue weight is 2950 lbs. I would go with a 3500 lb. jack instead of a 3,000 lb. one, but that's just my conservative nature. After a short sortie on to the other parts of the Internet it looks like your trailer weighs not more than about 6,500 lbs. so I'm thinking a 3,000 lb. jack would be more than sufficient as it will support up to a 18,000 lb. or so trailer. As always your mileage may vary.

Go BIG. I just bought a Husky 5000. I got tired of how slow my 3500 was when raising the trailer up attached to my truck to put on the WD bars.

Everything posted will be very helpful in helping us to decide what jack to purchase in the Spring. Putting it on the back burner for now as over a foot of smow is predicted in our area this Sunday

Chef, while I said I went "heavy duty" at 3,500 pounds please know my tongue weight on my current TT is only 700-725. Glad to hear your knee is better.
