Hello everyone and thanks in advance. Ive been reading a lot of the other topics everyone has been talking about and they all have been helpful. Especially for an RV newbie like me.
even those have been helpful, I still cant figure out mines.
so I’ll try to list out as much details as I can.
I just recently bought a used 97 tioga 24ft
evrything works great except for this battery power issue .
the house battery isn’t being charged by shore power or generator. It seems to be only be able to charge when the ford engine is on. after a 1.5 hr drive today with it today, the house battery voltage got back to 12.5 v.
when plugged in or generator running, it doesn’t charge up.
ive tried resetting all the breakers and checked all the fuses. All fine.
i did notice one thing while checking the converter panel too.... when I turn the “general Purpose “ breaker switch off, all the lights dim and seems to be only using the house battery. When I switch the break to ON , the lights brighten up. So I tested the 12v fuses Half the set would reading over 18v - OL on the multimeter. The right half of the fuses would remain constant at 12.5-12.7 volts. An extra obser is that there’s also a slight buzzing noise when the breaker is ON.
im sorry in advance for the long question and hope I explained the issue correctly,
thanks in advance to everyone that can possibly help diagnose this or a fix .

Oh, another temporary fix I had to do just to start up the furnace was to start my engine to get the battery voltage high enough to start the heater. Then when I turn off my engine, the battery would drain to 8v .
My house battery is a group 34 blue top optima ( 55ah). I’m planning to replace that.
