My wife and I are going on the road - We decided to give it at least a year as Full time RVers. I'm 69 and I want to see if I can make. Open to any suggestions. We bought a new Jayco Flight SLX 8. We are going to pull it with a 2018 Toyota Tacoma V6.

That’s great. We planned to do it for three years. We hit that mark this month and decided there is more to see and do. It is nice that it is a lifestyle and not a vacation. No set plans with time limits. Broad plans “We want to visit the Pacific Northwest this summer” and make a few reservations at key locations “Yellowstone and Glacier.” If we like a spot, we stay longer. If we want to rest, we stay. When we are ready, we move on. We find interesting little things along the way because we take time to explore. Today, we stumbled upon the marker for the geographic center of North America. Not on our bucket list, but fun for a quick photo. Oh the food! We try not to eat at any chain restaurant. Experience the little places with local specialties. Enjoy your time and just deal with the little issues that pop up along the way. Part of the adventure.

I'll be 69 this summer and you can do it! You won't win any races with a V6 but RVers don't race. As long as you are within the limits the TV can handle (max weight and payload) you will be fine. Camp close to home and a Walmart type store the first couple of outings so you can buy the extras you find you want or need and then...…….take off! I suggest you give dry/boondock camping a big try for the beautiful places the USFS, BLM etc. offer. Managing your power and water levels is second nature after a while.

I would consider buying a Much larger RV and TV if you are going full time.

Its a "done deal" on the TT, Danny, as OP stated. If OP finds he needs to upgrade in a while because they love fulltiming, he can. While pulling a TT isn't a big deal to me...big or small...OP will see what he likes and doesn't.
