When traveling from Sacramento down to Los Angeles, is Hwy 1 a good option for a 25’ Class C with no tow? Or should I stay on Hwy 101?

Regardless of suitability for your rig, there have been multiple closures on Hwy 1 for quite some time. You'll want to check with CDOT before planning and heading out.

Not open for through traffic yet. Late summer hopefully. Regarding the drive, you will have no issues in a 25 foot C. When open I regularly drive it with my 43 foot TV and TT. One sharp “U” curve just south of Ragged Point. Beautiful trip.

There are some hidden rarely used driveways so you need to watch out for the other guy. I had one genius pull out in front of me as I neared the driveway for a gift shop/fruit stand. It was all I could do to keep from hitting him
Looky-Lous can be a problem..scenery tends to make them cross over the center line along with those who decide to text
Bottom line make sure you keep an eye out for distracted drivers.

I really appreciate your helpful comments. I will be headed that way this weekend. Y’all be careful out there.

Dgumz, from north to south or south to north? Hearst San Simeon State Park is the last major campground before Ragged Point and the closure headed north and Plaskett Creek USFS campground is the last one headed south. Plaskett, NO dump but water, is very hard to get into without reservations. Hearst usually has room in the Washburn area...dry camping but they have a dump and water.
