This is a "controlled substance", we take for anxiety disorder. Have done so for years, we wintered in FL and found an MD who would write an RX, well now we're travelling to Montana.
Next state we will be in for a bit is Kansas, found out that a "walk-in" will not write an RX.
Our prior Dr. in NY, can only write for this med in NY. Not looking for woulda, shoulda, coulda comments.
Just someone in a similar circumstance, and hopefully a solution.
Thanks,
Bill and Laurie

Will your pharmacy fill it and mail to you to a NY address? Then you could have the package sent to you in Kansas. Just an idea.
I realize it’s a controlled substance but I’m a firm believer in asking, what the worst they can say . . . NO!

When I moved to Tennessee from Kentucky had to get a letter from my Kentucky MD stating the reason why I needed the Medication! Check with the Florida DR and see if he can do the same. Of course I also used Walmart Pharmacies!

Thank you for your suggestions,
We are travelling to Montana and will go by way of Colorado
Gave some consideration to taking a "natural" way to help.
But after a few calls to some walk-ins in Denver, found one that will give us an RX. They even participate in our insurance !
We'll stay just outside the city and drive our car in. However, I did just navigate thru Little Rock, a participating lab was just off the interstate and Google satellite showed a big parking lot nearby.
Seems like some DRs, are realistic to our situation. Others caught up in the national crisis.
We have been using CVS pharmacy for years and so far have found one when we needed it.

“Others caught up in the national crisis.”
There is a national crisis. Those doctors attempting to end it are not “caught up.”

i have been going to a local clinic and the doctor put me on 2mg klonopin per day about with 3mg powder protein a month ago. They messed up my appointment time and told me to come in today even though the doctor was not there. The prescription was only enough to last until yesterday. I called in to the office today and asked if they could have someone else call in my refill because my doctor will not be in until next week. They told me no the doctor must sign off on the prescription. Sorry and hung up. I am a little worried because the last dose was 24 hours ago and I will be not be able to get the refill until next week. What do you suggest I do?

Here's what happened.
The Dr visit in Denver was only partially helpful. We had a destination of Billings MT, to visit my brother, hadn't seen him in over 10 years. Drs in Billings, not helpful.
It didn't seem nessasary in May but by July returning to NY was deemed nessasary. The medication we need requires an office visit and can only be dispensed in the state written, no refills, no call ins to the pharmacy, and a written RX expires in 30 days.
On July 5 we left MT, drove about 225 miles every other day and arrived in NY on July 26. Along the way, in the middle of South Dakota I found a Dr who would write me an RX.
So now what? Well our NY Dr, who has known us for over 20 years wrote as usual, a 3 month supply. We are currently at a campground in upstate NY, gonna head over to eastern PA for a month or so and return to NY in October. Then to FL, don't have a place yet, but did have a Dr near where we stayed last year who would give us an RX.

Every doctor who declines to write a prescription for you, doesn’t agree you need the medication or won’t accept a walk-in request, isn’t wrong, mistaken, uncaring etc. I want to end this drug crisis (put more controls on controlled substances) and applaud those doctors who are careful with prescriptions.
