Hi everyone, as you can probably guess I'm brand new here. The reason I joined is that I'm in the process (a long one) of deciding what RV my wife and I purchase when I retire in a little over 2 years. I have ruled out a trailer as I am a fairly avid motorcyclist and don't intend on giving up my bike. This leaves me with self propelled motor home, probably a class A or Super C as they are the only ones with enough power to pull a 22-24 foot trailer. Why, you ask will be pulling such a big trailer, it's to hold the motorcycle, a small 4 wheel drive truck/jeep and my tools. It can also double as a workshop. I know I'll be traveling fairly heavy but that's what we've decided on. I will be posting another thread on the choice of the coach but that's not for here. As to other items, my wife and I are landlords in the Lansing Michigan area, and that, along with social security will be our income while we are on the road. While we're not rich, I don't see us having to work a great deal while on the road, unless we acquire a taste for living higher on the hog than we do now. Hopefully we'll find some friends here and meet them in real life in the next few years. Oh yea, like Howard I'm also an accountant in real life.

Welcome, Dave.
You have definitely found a good source for information, not only from Howard and Linda's website, but also from the folks here in the forums.
I can't speak much to your choices for an RV, but I do have a wee bit of insight because I've been in a few RV parks and am currently a camp host in one in Utah. We had a couple come in yesterday that has a 44 foot fifth wheel with one of those patios that lower down off of the door side of the RV. His first night, he was totally unable to put out his patio, but the next day, they were able to move him to a site that didn't have a tree interfering with the patio. I suspect the same can be said for toyhaulers, and maybe even RV's with the motorcycle carrier. One might have to unload the motorcycle before one can park their RV.
Good luck with your research and planning.
Terry

I understand, I won't have a motorcycle hauler it will be a trailer. I'm certainly aware that I may need to drop the trailer before I park my RV. As long as I can keep the trailer in the park I'm OK with that.
