I am looking for your opinions on wintering in RV parks around Phoenix area that accommodate big rigs and spaces aren't squished together. I plan for 6 month stays, November to April. I want to stay within the warmth of Gila River valley, so a 50-60 mile radius? Would be nice if the park had a lot of activities too.
Thanks in advance.

There are hundreds to choose from. I know oothers will have lots more but if you want activities try Sunflower in Surprise or Canyon Vistas in Gold Canyon. If you’ve not done this area before why not 1-2 months each in 4 or 5 of them. Then you’ll know what you can get.

The Cal-Am parks run specials for the fall. One price for 1-4 months (Sept-Dec). At our park it will be $995 for the four months (or whatever part you want to stay). Jan-March is prime time, and April is shoulder. We are in Mesa - huge number of parks of all sizes and quick access to other parts of the Valley. We like East Valley better than the west - less dirt because all of the agriculture is out on the west side of the valley.
What do you want to do/see while you are here? If someone is a quilter, then Val Vista is the place to be - they have a huge Fabric Arts center complete with a long arm quilting machine; the place have people in working on quilts from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm (or sometimes later).

Two places I know of with larger sites in the area are the Ranchos and Val-Vista pull-thrus in Val Vista Village (Mesa) and the RV section of Superstition Buttes Mobile Home Community (Apache Junction). A friend with a 43' diesel pusher likes Superstition Buttes because of the site size. We are at Val Vista Village in a Ranchos pull-thru right now, since they have an April deal going.

Mesa Spirit also has some very Big Rig sites that handle 45' motorhomes with 30' trailers!
