Hi, My wife and I have been living full time for about 8 years now. Let me back up just a little. I have been RV camping since I was an infant. (thanks dad) I was raised as an explorer, maybe that was part of the reason I enlisted in the Army at the age of 17. after a bit of time, I got out and worked for the Veterans Administration (as a mechanic) soon after I retired. (27 years of federal service), then shortly after that I retired again from a city job (working as a A.S.E. Master certified truck mechanic) by this time we have been full time RV living for about 4 years. The wife is still working so I am utilizing this time to totally modify our NEW 2014 Sierra to fit our every need before we hit the road. I have done a lot of stuff. everything from taking out carpet and installing bamboo flooring, making ne cabinets, designing, fabricating and installing a liqueur cabinet (to include a wine cooler and crystal glass drawers), coffee bar, complete new dining area, and the list goes on. why you ask.....I am slowly cleaning out our storage garage I either make a home for it in the RV or we donate or sale it. our storage unit is about 30 feet deep and about 10 feet of that are tools. can't let go of them but I can't haul them along either. the next 10 feet are cleaned out and the last 10 feet to the roof is a little bit of everything. ///@@#$%^&*( What a mess. Good thing we have a few more years before my wife retires. O.K. HELLO EVERYONE.

happy travels, don't know which way you are going but if you are taking the I-5 north or south over the grapevine, be safe. It has been cold, rain, snow and Ice from what I have heard, what I have seen at 1200 ft elevation is some rain and cold with a little wind. Good thing is that it is not so bad that they closed it yet. I am at the south base of the grape vine in a little town called Castaic. when they close the freeway this little town gets packed fast. That has not happened yet this month.

The vine is fun to drive. I always stop at the Frazier Park exit for coffee.

To me it is just a extra wide freeway going thru mountains with a couple pit stop locations. To me (as a young kid) the grape vine was fun in the 60's early 70's before they decided to turn it into a commercial development. anyway it really doesn't matter how many lanes there are, for some reason everyone wants to drive side by side and won't let anyone pass by them anyway. the roads can be 10 lanes wide, but if the people using them don't know how to drive, it is just a waist of tax payers money. happy travels.
