I was browsing an RV store today and saw an Apex brand hose: Apex Zero-G RV/Marine Hybrid Hose, 50' x 1/2". It is safe for drinking - same safety info on it as other hoses made for drinking water use. It interests me because it coils up to take up significantly less space and is lighter as well. I am wondering if anyone here has used one of these and if so, how did you like it - did it handle well and would you buy it again?

I can't speak to the quality of the hose as we've never had one. However, being camp hosts in an RV park where the water pressure is very high, I would certainly recommend a water pressure regulator be used with the hose. That would apply with any hose, but with this one supposedly taking less space for storage, I wonder about its construction and strength.
I also recommend that when using a water pressure regulator that it be placed at the faucet so as to protect the hose as well as the RV.

Thanks, Terry. I definitely will have a water pressure regulator at the faucet.

We had something similar, it lasted for about 6 months of full time use. They definitely stow easier and smaller than a traditional hose though. If it has a decent replacement warranty it would probably be worth a shot.

Durability is definitely my worry. I carry spares and extra water hoses and have the storage for them, along with extra sewer hose and electric cords. I mostly get the Never Kink brand, which will kink over time, since they are 5/8" and last many years. But every once in a while they will spontaneously spring a leak.

I have seen NeverKink and that has been on our list. I went to the website and found that the hose I am talking about is made by the same company as NeverKink. Doesn't mean it alleviates my concern - but I find it interesting. I also plan on having spare hoses, whichever kind I get.

Just as a thought, I can't speak to which brand name hose we have, but it is probably what one buys in the normal RV dealership parts store. We have been living full-time in our fifth wheel now for almost 7 years, and we only replaced our original hose within the last 3 months, and only then because I thought it might be getting "weak" after that length of time. Still went on with a similar hose, but in a shorter length (15' instead of 25') because of our site being closer.
Keep in mind that we stay in one place for extended periods of time, so our hoses aren't being coiled and uncoiled much at all.

Thanks for the info. We plan on staying places a month at a time, so the hose will be taken out and put up fairly regularly, so I will definitely have a spare in case I damage the hose in the setup/tear down process.

rvwaterfilterstore.com will have waterhoses of different lengths and either brass or SS ends. The hoses will last a lifetime I am sure. VERY high quality with no bloating and easy to coil in cold weather.

I recently purchased the Camco water hose for use when I go FT, and like it much better than the NeverKink hoses (which should be called Everkink, IMHO) I've used for years.
As quality hoses go, it wasn't very expensive either.

After my last Camco water hose (the white one) developed it's second kink I tossed it. I think the Camco was only three years old.
I spent a few extra dollars and purchased a Camco "guaranteed" never kink water hose that is a different color (a very light tan). I have saved the packaging with the guarantee so that I can return it if things go bad. I'm just finishing the first year and no problems (yet).
My original Camco white hose got so stiff that I couldn't coil or uncoil it anymore. I was using it as my black water rinse hose so I replaced it with a good quality 5/8" garden hose that is 15' long.

We have the Flexzilla hose. It is drinking water safe and light in weight.

Thanks for the info. I use the Flexilla air hose and really like them. I did not know they made water hoses.
