I am sitting in the sun dreaming about our plans for the next month. We will be leaving Mexico a little early this winter to be back in the states for a trip to Southeast Asia (Thailand, Cambodia & Viet Nam) in mid March. That will leave a few weeks window of time in Arizona to try something different for us.
In our five years of RV'ing we have never visited an "RV Resort". We are more the National Parks kind of camper. So it's time to see how life in a "Resort" would suit us.
I know there are many experienced RV'er that can direct us in our search for a great first experience. We're open to almost any area in Southern Arizona.
If you are currently in a park, can you advise us on whether there are spaces that would be available for the last two weeks of February.
We will be driving from the Tucson area to Pahrump, NV to store our RV in Pahrump until the RV-Dreams Spring Rally.
What's your favorite "Arizona RV Resort"?

Do you want to stay in the Tucson area, the Phoenix area, or somewhere else? Problem with Phoenix area is that Spring Training is starting the 23rd of February so it might be hard to find a spot. Or you could see if there are any spots in one of the Maricopa county parks like Usery in Mesa. If you are an Escapee, I'd recommend spending some time in Congress at the Escapee Park. Casa Grande parks might also be something you should check on.

Resorty type places........not much in Tucson (IMO)(maybe Voyager). Palm Creek in Casa Grande, Canyon Vistas in Gold Canyon, Sunflower in Surprise for starters. I have never had a problem getting in for a week or so.

Here's what I like about RV Resorts, especially the higher end type:
Good amenities- Large Pool and Jacuzzi, great common area, well stocked convenience stores, Dog walk areas (some have DYI Dog wash facilities), large clean restrooms with great shower stalls, some sports areas (golf, putting green, tennis, basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard...etc), great conference rooms, planned activities for adults and kids, public transportation stops close by...and more
The spaces are usually very nicely done with great parking spots for the RV, a picnic table, shade, landscaping, full hookups with 50amp electric, cable TV. Space to park a Tow'd.
Due to the higher prices unruly RV'ers are few.
Security patrols
Mobile RV repair, wash & wax are readily available.

We went to McDowell Mountain Regional Park last year. A huge place that's very scenic.

We've narrowed our search down to the Phoenix area. We will be visiting friends in Buckeye which is on the Southwest side of Phoenix.
What would be the best choice in this general area. Would like to try out an RV resort but may have to settle for a regular RV park.
Any park names?

Look at Leaf Verde and Cotton Wood. We stayed at Cottonwood. OK park if staying on west side. We prefer Mesa, but that’s just us.

Agree with Leaf Verde. Hard to get in (always booked) but cheap and not really a resort. Cottonwood is OK but not great IMO. Have stayed at both many times.

Barb & igotjam,
Thanks for the suggestions. I spent time looking at both parks websites. I will give each place a call and check availability for the end of February.
