Hey, all! Glad to see this community. We are looking at a 24 foot Class C motor home as first RV. Thought to gain some more knowledge first before we pull the trigger. I'll be reading around.

Welcome! Rent a Class C for a week. That will help you decide.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a great idea to test it all out with a class C or a bumper pull if you have a truck or big SUV. We rented for a 1600 mile trip. Cost about $280 a day with everything associated to the RV such as rental, fuel, propane, camping spot. Another guy rented the class C before us and he paid $270. If we had a few more years before purchasing our fulltime rig, we might have shopped around for a class C, finding a good price and selling it later. Friend bought one for two years for $12,000. Then gave it to his kids before getting his fifth wheel/truck.
I liked renting the 25' class C because it was easy to get around in for shopping as we had no second vehicle at the time. Here in our area, the price drops for rentals in the winter through March to about half price. We had thought about renting one and heading south for a week as well. Hoping there would be no snow/ice for the trip home.
