Greeting to all,
Narrowing down our 5th wheel choices for full timing next fall to forest river cedar creek 34RE hathaway and the keystone montana 3560RL (new 2018 model) legacy edition. We like them both for their size, floorplan, standards and add-in options. Anyone out there who might own these models that would share their pros and cons? Which manufacturer provides better durability, longevity, and resale value?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Sorry - not very familiar with those rigs, but welcome to the forum!

You might get more answers to this type of question on the respective owners' forums (FROG and Montana Owners' Forum).

Welcome, EverywhereMan. Rob's suggestion is a good one, but don't expect the FR people to tell you the Montana is a better choice, or the Montana people tell you to buy the FR. Rather, ask each forum about known issues. Since one of them is as brand-new model, there obviously won't be any experience with it, but it is most likely similar to some other models that you should be able to get some useful information. Remember that every brand will have issues. The real question is how well the factory steps up to handle problems. Also, by joining the forums you will get a handle on how well other owners like their choices AND how willing they are to help a new owner. Third reason is that you may well find the ideal coach for sale there at a BIG savings.

I've not owned either one but am watching the thread. Good selections by the way. I'll hold off on opinion between the two based on our own wants and research. Because the post is asking for those that have owned them to comment.

Other than one being a Forest River product and the other being a Thor product (these two companies built over 80% of all RVs) the biggest difference between the Cedar Creek and the Montana is construction, both ride on I-Beam Lippert Frames but the Cedar Creek uses a "Hung" wall with Batt insulation glued in and Montana uses a "Laminated" wall with foam for insulation.
Most of the accessories on both the Cedar Creek and the Montana like the Microwave, Stove, A/C, Furnace, Water Heaters, Refrigerator and such all come from a couple of RV industry standard manufactures and are used on many brands and models from entry level RVs to high end Motor Coaches.
