In April while visiting my daughter in Denver we bought some bad diesel fuel. It was rather expensive to get fixed too. After getting the truck repaired we moved over to Crawford, Co for our summer workamping position. We recently ran into to same problem again. Took the truck to the a Ford dealership to get her serviced. It was the first time since we left Denver. When we went to crank her while waiting on the glow light I heard the fuel filter singing like it did in Denver. We got the truck back in the rack and pulled some fuel from her and it was loaded with water.
The service dept. was short handed and they gave us a loaner car and off we went back to home. Two weeks later they finally got to the truck fixed. We get the call and go and pick her up. Didn't make it 50 miles and she d-rated again. Well If there ever was a time when I felt like screaming this is it. I've googled, youtube, and searched the world wide net for idea's and any info I can about this issue. I've changed the filter and installed them with no luck.
There is air getting into the fuel system causing our problem. All info I've seen and read indicates there is a problem with the fuel filter under the frame rail. Being in an area where mechanics are limited is a pain. We are at the local Ford dealerships mercy. We have scheduled an appointment for Tuesday to take her back and hope we can get it fixed.
The fulltime life is good. At least it's not something like Howard and Linda experienced so far. Unfortunately all this expense is coming from our pockets. We know eventually she will get fixed and we will be off on our travels again. We have suffered through one POS RV and now we are going through this truck problem. Its caused Lola to ask what are we doing wrong, also one time wanting to go home. This is home here in our beloved Vanleigh/Vilano. We know its just a part of the life. All this will pass and the good life goes on.
You all take care and if you happen to be in the panhandle of Florida for Dec. come on by and stop in and have a drink of choice with Lola and I. We will be workamping at St. George Island S.P. Until then Happy Trails.

Dang, what a PIA. Hope they can get it right this time. Is there a performance diesel shop in the area that can look at it with a fresh set of eyes?

Over in Grand Junction, but Ford has not been charging us for the work. It's fell under the power train warranty.

We have come to the point where we are having to change out all parts that are with the fuel system. They want replace fuel tank but anything that fuel goes through will be new. Ford better hope that fixes it. This is our 4th trip to the ford shop. If it doesn't work after this we will use the lemon law since it will be the forth visit. Have contacted the lemon law attorneys in NC and just got our fingers crossed this fix works so we don't have to do this. Oh well here we wait in Crawford, Co. and another thing, we had reservations for the Balloon festival. We contact them via phone and were told to contact Ms. Garcia and so we were transferred to her answering machine and after two weeks and a few more messages we have yet to receive a returned phone call. Sent several emails and no reply. What does one do?
