I have seen the same post on Craigslist for a few weeks. I haven't had an RV but have been pretty much reading about it for a couple of years. This one ticks the boxes for me as a first time RV owner: Dry bath, bunk over cab so at least one bed is ready for sleeping, non-carpet flooring and not too crazy interior. I am hoping to find a 25' or under class c with these attributes. Can I post a CL link here? https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/rvs/d/2001-fleetwood-tioga-arrow/6285198298.html They want $17,000. That's a lot of dough but doesn't seem out of line with what I am seeing out there. (This RV would be for a weekend here or there and a few weeks for vacation.)

Julia,
I don't have any experience with older motorhomes, but a check of the NADA guide shows that the average retail for the unit described is $7,800 - less than half what they're asking for it. With that in mind, and the fact that it's a 16-year-old motorhome, I wouldn't consider it at that price. If it's in pristine condition and you're still interested, have a third-party mechanic go over it head-to-toe to make sure the engine, drive train, suspension, etc. are in excellent condition. If the seller won't agree to that, walk away. Also keep in mind that RV appliances (ACs, refrigerators, etc.) are not "forever" equipment and 16 years is past the average life expectancy for things like that.

I agree with Second Chance, if you are interested pay for an inspection...and you inspect it too...with a disinterested but RV experienced friend who owns a C.
