We drove up to Albany, Oregon (from Sutherlin) this morning to enjoy the total eclipse at a small city park with about 50 other people. This is a definite checkoff for out bucket list. It was everything they talked about and if you missed it this year, try for 2024, Texas, through Illinois, up into Canada.

We opted to watch this one mostly on TV from the comfort of our upstate NY campsite. Just 65% coverage here, so all we had was a slight dimming of the sun, about the same as a thin cloud passing by. In 2024, we'll be right on the edge of the totality band if we're in the same place. I'm sure I won't be around for it, but the 2045 total eclipse should really be spectacular, with about 6 minutes of totality.

We saw it in totality in North Georgia. Very cool. Very dark, photocell lights came on, we could look at it for a minute with no glasses. Small purple sparkle at bottom of moon.

Location - Location - Location - Wow!, what a wonderful experience and heavenly display. Took the rig to South Carolina and boondocked. (Generators are a very good thing) Well worth the trouble and just a little traffic delay getting out. Right on schedule the clouds parted and we were dazzled. If you saw it you get it. If not, try the next time. Amazing in person.

We had perfect weather on Indian Lake in Cuba MO.... freakin' AWESOME! 20 miles off center line. We'll be FTing long before 2024 rolls around, looking forward to that one.

I live right about over the centerline and experienced 2+ minutes of twilight. The photocell and solar lights came on. I was outside for over 2 hours! Pieere!

It really is. I did a small amt of video on the phone when darkness hit - my sister laughed at my 'squeal', but it is really one of those things you can't explain, you just need to be there. Now, I have to figure out how to edit out the 'clunk' as I dropped it in my lap.
