Holy Guacamole, well after several false starts and what has felt like forever to effect a sale that has gone FIRM, we are set to close 29th August. Now comes the arduous task of selling absolutely everything from dining room/bedroom/living room furnitures right down to the last knife and fork.
Anyone know anybody in the Sarasota Florida area that might be looking for furniture and items that look like they've just come out of the Showroom, really appreciate you directing them to ads I've placed on Craigslist under Furniture, Household Items, and the big detailed one under Garage Sales for the next upcoming two weekends.
Right now it's all seeming a little surreal, and with little time to closing we're pulling all nighters prepping flyers, ads etc and flying down tomorrow to start the big promotional sell off and "neighbourhood sneak a peek" pre the hoards of bargain hunters.
RVing more and more, here we come = YEAH!

Thanks Brian, first chance I've had with insomnia tonight to check back on the RVing Forums.
Well we've just about survived the first "garage sales weekend". Just being the operative word here. So desperately tired right now, and still so much to shift. Wow, what an interesting way to meet so many characters of people!!! It's been a case of "we ain't in Kansas anymore Toto", with so many scammers from Craigslist ads trying it on, and some really, really interesting characters coming through the Garage Sale. When the guy to buy my hubby's Fishcart tonight arrived in a Deputy Uniform, it felt so good to get that hug of gratitude as he'd been looking for one like it for a long time. LOL. Had a wonderful family came by Sunday and bought a lot of stuff and didn't barter at all, hubby had to give them things to make him feel better, as we'd been dealing with many folks offering 20c on a 50c labeled item that cost us $4 = "really". They want to come back this upcoming weekend to see what else we put out. Going to get their number and anything that's left, offer to them at the end Free Of Charge = lovely young family look like they'd appreciate it as she was wearing a McDonald Shirt and based on car they were driving etc. Might be judging wrong but when folks are decent with you, we like to reward great behaviour.
Keeping on trucking here, hoping all's done by 29th scheduled Closing, and we can spend the next 6 days driving back to, finally and thankfully rainy Alberta. Daughter apparently had to buy 10 extra bales of hay to substitute feed as the grass is non-existent back there and we never had to do that any other years at this time.
Time to try and get some ZZZzzzz's before the 10am Queen Bed Suite viewers arrive in the morning = fingers crossed they aren't going to join the 20c brigade. LOL.

Sooooooo happy to finally arrive home last night (Friday 11pm MST), after leaving Sarasota Monday evening after closing at 5.30pm, a day earlier than planned and clocking over 2800miles/4800+Kms. That's the last time we ever want to cover that kind of mileage, that quickly in a car and chancing hotel beds and bathrooms = so missed not having our RV comforts with us!
The rain was torrential, for most of the 3 weeks we were there, and naturally our hearts were with the victims of Texas, but alas coming home we are oh so desperate for rain here in Alberta.
Now can begin implementation for the next chapters of our lives :)

Ahh the memories this brings back. Now that you've had a chance to catch your breath ... how does the fatter wallet and lighter load feel? Honestly, when I think about it, I still smile ... I'm sure people think we're goofy, but no debt and house money in the bank just feels awesome.

Thanks Ron, it feels so liberating, we are ecstatic to be free of that ball and chain for sure and all the problems of being non-homesteaders and foreign ownership that came with it as goal posts moved over the years with various gov bodies, insurances, exchange rates etc.
Freedom 60, not quite the 55 as we'd hoped, for hubby has finally arrived. Life's sweet.
