I am Robert and my wife kris will be hitting the road full time when I retire in 5 or 6 years. Looking forward to learning as much as possible until then. Counting on the road veterans for your experience and advice to expand out knowledge.
We have always loved camping and the great outdoors. We currently have a Ford F150 and a 20' Komfort towable that we have enjoyed for the last 13 years. So we are excited about seeing all that this great country has to offer and meeting great folks along the way!
I have had the privilege and honor to work for the greatest employee owned retail company in the Pacific Northwest. I hope to finish out my career and retire with 50 years of service, then on to new adventures. Glad to be part of this wonderful community of travelers.

Hi and welcome,
We had a travel trailer years ago and thought about full timing in retirement for some time.
And now we are about to do it, we have the motorhome and plan to be "on the road" by mid September.
The following are just my thoughts and opinions, as you may have already read there is no one right way to fulltime.
I found this web site and forum about 3/4 years ago. It is very helpful and insightful.
We have not attended a rally yet, might just see you in NV
One thing I picked up early on was that most full timers wished they had started sooner.
I didn't quite have the feeling for my job as you do, but I did like it and retired at 37 years.
That was 4 months ago at age 59.5 , no early withdrawal penalty.
Best of luck,
Bill

Thanks Bill,
The wife has a few medical issues we are trying to sort out before taking the plunge. Excited for you and yours as your about to start your new adventure. We have been following Howard's site for about 6 months now and are learning more each day. Looking forward to next years rally in NV. As we are sure to learn a lot and get a better feel for the lifestyle.
Please keep in touch and give us updates on your travels and experiences. Hope you can make it to the spring rally. It would be nice to meet another " newbie" and share some good times.
Best wishes, Robert & Kris

Have fun planning, it's part of the experience!! I at one time thought I worked for the best family owned retailer in the NW but things change and we ended up hitting the road a little sooner than we thought but we were ready.
We attended a rally in Oregon in 2012 and then a Valentines Day boondocking rally in Quartzsite Arizona in , well I just can't remember what year LOL!! We have toyed with the idea of attending another just because or at leastv camp near one so we could stop in and say high.

Welcome and I can't say enough regarding your decision to attend Howard and Linda's Spring Rally. I've been reading and following their forum for years and it finally worked out that I could attend the 2017 Spring Rally. It was truly one of the best things my wife and I could have done. I'm planning to retire in the next year or so and we met some of the most awesome people and learned so much about RVing and what it takes to full time. Howard and Linda put on a first class Rally and I can't stress enough for someone thinking about full timing how important this opportunity is to talk to and visit with folks who are living the life and to have an opportunity to the walk through various rigs, etc. Glad to have you in the group!

My wife and I attended the 2017 Spring Rally as well. Great experience. Even though we weren't RV owners yet, we felt part of the group. Meeting folks who had little to no RV experience up to those who had been living the lifestyle for many years
was invaluable.
