Just looking for some additional assistance. Last fall after camping my black tank was accidentally left open, as you all know now I have a complete blockage. I have tried different chemicals, but I can't get any kind of wand in because there is an immediate 90 degree angle. Any ideas? The repair shop wants to replace the black tank and I have a camper where it is going to cost too much in labor to get to the darn thing. Thank you for any recommendations!

Nadine, Have you spoken with someone who professionally cleans RV tanks? They may have some suggestions and/or could address the issue. A good source of RV service professionals is RVServiceReviews.com.
Also, you shared that you have tried multiple chemicals. I am assuming that you added water to the tank (e.g., filling the tank approx. half full with water) to help breakdown/soften the dried “stuff”—if not, and that would not be contrary to what the professional tank cleaner or the RV shop’s suggested next steps would be, you may want to do this. Also, if you have not driven the RV for a few hours since adding the chemicals and water, you may want to drive the RV to agitate and help loosen the dried “stuff”. If that does not remove the blockage, let the RV sit for a few more days and then drive it around for another hour or so. Even if that helps to remove the blockage, you may still want to have the tank professionally cleaned.
Hope your issue is resolved as simply as possible.

I had a similar problem in my motorhome a couple of years ago. I tried a lot of things without success. Then I used Unique RV Digest-it Holding Tank Treatment and it dissolved everything! They have a 24 hour process where you pour into the tank and fill with water. You let it sit for 24 hours and then empty the tank. I was really surprised by the amount of "sludge" that came out. You can order on Amazon Prime.
The other think you can try if completely blocked is the King Flush system. You attach a garden hose to this fitting and then attach the fitting to your dump valve. It pushes water up into your tank. You can get one at Camping World or Amazon.
Good luck,
Ron

Another possible suggestion is use a auger or similar "snake" type drain cleaner. The one I use will bend around corners in the pipe. By design, the blank tank drain is the low point in the tank and everything will settle there. It's not unusual to have a hard shell of "stuff" right over this drain and usually it doesn't take much to break through it with a snake. Here's one that's a 10 footer... http://a.co/0lifgnY
