So we just purchased two new Interstate 6 volt golf cart batteries. They are wired together for 12 volts. We are doing more and more boondocking and would like extend our stays.
We are thinking of getting a Honda 2000 generator to help in that. My question is what type of charger is recommended so that we get as quick a charge as possible without damage to the batteries and not having to leave the generator running for hours on end.
Thanks!

If you have a Magnum Inverter/Charger installed, it is primarily a matter of properly programming the setting into the Magnum (e.g., battery type and other related settings). Be aware that a generator will do a good job of charging the batteries up to approximately an 80% charge level … afterwards (when the batteries go into absorption and float mode) it takes a lot longer to incrementally increase the charge level (i.e., that is when solar works well, something to consider adding or adding more of, if you continue to enjoy boondocking).
