Truth be told, I have been living on this site the past year. My beautiful wife of 35 years Debbie and myself have just retired a couple of years early. (As did the founders of this amazing site.) After being avid boaters cruising the Pacific Northwest and Canadian San Juan Islands, we knew that exploring the North American continent in a RV was our destiny and meant to be. As a member of the Spokane Yacht Club and being a past commodore, I have seen many retired club members put their boats away and venture out in their RV's. Knowing it wasn't our time, I longed to be a part of their traveling posse.
Since retiring two weeks ago, (4/9/17) we have purchased a new Ford F350 Diesel and a new Heartland Bighorn 3585rl. Again, thanks to this site, Google reviews, Auto trader, RV Trader and miles of driving to check every make and model known to man, we feel that we have made the right choices that are right for us. (Truth be told, it's everything Debbie wanted. Happy wife right?)
I have learned so much from this site and want to thank everyone for their opinions and personal experiences that you were willing to take the time to share. What I really like is that ego's are left at the login tab and what I am reading and learning are coming from people who care about their fellow RV'ers and understand that they were newbies once. I am not the most savy computer people and will need some coaching on how to communicate on this site. Deb and I hope to someday meet some of the awesome authors of this site on the road.
The first ones on me.
God Bless
Kip, Debbie, and Ruby Marie the wonder dog.

Welcome Kip and Debbie to the best source of information for full timing. We met Howard and Linda many years ago and have been to their rallies. We enjoyed our time there and have been amazed at the amount of information there is here. Many helpful people here that are willing to help.
If you need a little more technical help on your new Bighorn, I would advise you to come over to the Heartland Owners forum where you will find many other Heartland owners that can answer just about any question you may have. The owners forum is free to join and has a wealth of information all Heartland products.
Good luck and safe travels.

Congratulations on your new rig and adventure. After nearly three years research, if I was forced to decide what fifth wheel floor plan to take off in and truck it would be the same as yours with an F350 Lariat.

Welcome! We're former Pacific NW residents and still love the Pacific NW in the summer!! We enjoy going back to Seattle and Coeur d'Alene every summer, but have to admit it's really nice to NOT be there in the winter! Welcome to the forum, happy travels as you embark on your new adventures.

When's Ruby Marie going for her first camp out in the new RV?
