Thanks for sharing your wonderful funny story. No doubt we have all had our oops moment(s). As long as nobody gets hurt it's all good. When I tell people we like to start late and finish early it's because I learned that dark and unfamiliar RV parks are dangerous places.

Just because you are an experienced RVer doesn't mean you can't goof with a slide...I haven't yet but it's coming I'm sure. .

While not a slide, I discovered that a Winegard Trav'ler DirecTV dish can withstand 65 mph winds (created by forward velocity of our truck) ... yep, forgot to stow it, but only for 20 miles or so. Oops!😬

Through the trial and tribulation of setting up in the dark (and it being your first time setting up to boot) to have things work out to a happy conclusion - that is the very definition of 'adventure'. Serendipity reigns, Ladies! Thanks for sharing!
