Looking for ideas for carrying one adult bike (and ideally a step ladder) on my class C. The class C has a receiver used to tow a vehicle and no mounted ladder on the motorhome. Have asked rv dealer and rv manufacturer about adding a ladder and both have advised not to do it. (nothing solid to mount ladder to.) I really don't want to haul the bike on my toad (that's what we do currently but I'd like it to stay on the motorhome if possible). Was thinking of having something custom built to attach to motorhome frame and support the bike (and maybe a stepladder) above the tow bar. Seems like a hassle? Hydralift? Looking for ideas..............

We use a Blue OX bike rack. Get the tall version to get extra clearance between bike and tow bar. We bought an additional base mount so we can move the vertical rack from the RV to the TOAD if we want to drive to a trailhead. If you bought the three or four bike version you could probably hang a ladder on it and the bike.
I have a bike carrier made by Swagman that fits on the outside of the receiver. You can carry your bikes and tow at the same time. I don't know if they still make it or not. If you stop by Palisiade CO I will make you a heck of a deal on it. Comes with cover. Holds three bikes as I recall.
