We are currently moving our 'address' from Indiana to Florida.
In the process we acquired nationwide coverage on health insurance through the market place. So that works.
But we also discovered Florida vehicle insurance rates are significantly higher than Indiana and that many companies have withdrawn from Florida due to an inability make a profit in the state.
We have lived in RV full time for a couple of years. We run a couple of small businesses.
We just discovered that it is an issue to be a full timer with a small business within our 5th wheel or utilizing our truck for in any way. This includes something as benign as book keeping. Progressive forbids any business being conducted from the RV or truck even if it is not advertised or no clients visit the RV.
So, have you all checked the small print on your policies? Do your home businesses nullify your coverage?
Has someone revealed their business to insurer and know absolutely it is not a problem to have a business in their RV?
We are looking for an insurance company in Florida that will cover our 5th wheel/truck and home businesses that we support ourselves with. Ideas?
Please do not respond with random insurance companies...I can find those.
The question is an insurance company that you know 100% covers your for full time AND running a business from your RV/truck?

I'm no expert-
Sounds like you need a business vehicle policy as well as a theft/liability policy to protect from theft of business related items or if a client gets hurt..... you'll be covered but it's going to be expensive.
We we sold on the road I didn't even consider that my RV/truck insurance would differentiate between business and pleasure use.
We did carry a one million dollar liability policy in case a customer was hurt by something related to our business operation.
Guess I should have read the fine print....luckily nothing happened during the 5 years we sold on the road.

We already had separate business insurance for Dale's business that we maintained when we went on the road. Worked with Miller's Insurance company to make sure our RV was covered and then had to have a special waiver on the business insurance stating that we were running the business out of the RV. It took a little extra effort / communication but wasn't a big deal when all was said and done and since then everything has been renewed without a problem.
