Fun reading.
* We did save some money moving from the Verizon Double Your Data to the new plan. It was a shock to us and the salesperson. We saved money since the surcharge per smartphone went down and a $4.99 per smartphone fee disappeared. I was willing to pay just a bit more to have Canada service and roll over, so it being cheaper was a plus.
* We do buy those expensive running shoes, since we walk a lot and cheaper shoes either did not hold up or hurt our feet. These shoes last 300 to 400 miles before the soles wear out, which is fairly quick at 6 to 9 miles a day.
* We also love having our own washer/dryer.
* Your average camping costs per night are similar to ours and ours includes dues for memberships.
* Our food expenses are higher. But we don't care.
* We like being around cities a bit larger than you do, but not too big. I guess that is why we like Mesa AZ and Fort Myers FL, where we will stay 3 months at a time in winter.

I remember reading that you switched plans on Verizon, in fact I think you brought it to me attention. We will probably take a hard look at it but I'm dragging my feet because I like having the 30 gigs we have now.
We started playing Pickle Ball this year so having a good shoe for that is important. Hiking boots are another area we don't skimp on.
The only campground memberships we belong to is Passport America and Escapee's so the combined yearly dues don't add up to much but we do have a separate line for them on our spreadsheet.

We did not lose our 40GB plan and saved money. Plus this fall they had a short term promotion that added 2GB per smartphone of bonus data, so we now have 44GB.

As of January I began tracking our expenses. I am looking forward to comparing our results with others at the end of the year. We aren't horribly frugal but we do try to keep expenses low-ish. And then there is cellular. I'm a digital addict so they own me. I think that will change as technology matures/improves.
