We all know that one of the disadvantages of a GAS Motor home is the engine noise level. A friend told me that he uses Mobile One full synthetic oil in his V10 engine and claims that it reduces the noise level of his engine. Has anyone had this same experience? I am curious if anyone is using Full synthetic oil in their coach and has had this performance and noise improvement.
Cheers,
Big Mike

I used it in my Workhorse/GM 8.1 liter engine. I observed no noise reduction or performance improvement. Studies have shown that it does reduce friction in the engine when compared to regular oil and in many people's opinion is worth using for that reason.

I have used Mobil-1 in my 4 cylinder Chevy Cobalt that I use to tow my Aliner camper. The car now has over 340,000 miles on the original engine. The little 2.4l engine still has good compression and it doesn't burn a drop of oil between oil changes, which is whenever the computer advises, usually around 7,500 miles. BTW I don't baby the car either, towing a 1,700 lb camper, (which is 170% of the car's meager 1,000 lb tow rating) about 60,000 of those 340,000 miles. Not that I would recommend this to anyone, but just to illustrate that the engine has seen severe use. I highly recommend it and attribute this unusually long engine life to Mobil-1. For full disclosure, I did have to replace the automatic transmission at about 300,000 miles, but I only used the standard GM approved transmission fluid in it.
I wouldn't use anything else from now on and plan on using it in the future in a gas powered motorhome I will be FTing in, in a couple years.

For sure synthetic oil has nothing to do with engine noise It will, for sure, give it many more years of lifetime if you do your oil changes as required !

I thought that this would be the case. I think it may be just his imagination. I told him to buy a Diesel :)
