We are in the process of buying a new Landmark 5th wheel and a new Ram 3500. We were at the Spring RV-Dreams Rally and saw lots of rigs that had a small "step" in front of the 3 or 4 steps into the rig.
We're going to possibly need two of these - one to help my elderly mom reach the side rail on the truck, and the other for the rig.
We'd like a strong and sturdy step. Can you tell me where to find one.
Thanks in advance!

Camping World has them but they are a bunch of money. We got a plastic exercise step (about 15" X 36" and maybe 6" high) at Target for under $25 that works great. You might have to look for them as they go on sale from time to time.
If someone you know is handy, I built a step using 3/4 inch Marine Grade Plywood. Basically I built a box 2 feet deep by 3 feet wide and 5 inches high. I left the bottom open so I could turn the step over in my truck bed to haul stuff. Plus with the open bottom it helped to level it when the ground was rough.
I covered the outside and top with outdoor carpet.
This same step has been with us since 1979.

Some people might think they do not need RV step rugs to determine that they are wrong because I think these items are indeed useful. Note that having the best RV step covers does more than acting like a doormat for your RV. It can also help improve the grip of your shoes on the steps.

Wooden steps can be heavy but weight adds stability.

Before adding comments here, keep in mind that this is a 4 year old thread. I suspect that the original poster has already made a purchase.
Also, remember that Howard prefers that we not revive any threads that are over 1 year old.

Expensive, but might consider Comfort Step.
