Neat "trick" to keep your gas stove top clean easily and score some “brownie” points with the house chef:
We purchased a set of reusable Teflon oven mats from Amazon for $15. They come in different sizes for both range and toaster ovens. Take one of the larger ones and cut circles out where the gas burners on the stove top are located and use one to help keep the oven clean, too. The color is the same as the stove top in our rig, so it is hardly even visible once the rack is placed back over it. Just remove from the stove top when it gets spotty, clean with dish water, dry, and place it back on the stove top over and over again.
Hint: Aldi carries these from time to time, too. You just have to know to look for them in a box shaped like a box of aluminum foil. (See the picture on Amazon to know what you are looking for.) If you are lucky to spot them at Aldi, the cost is only $3 or $4.

Oooh please tell Laura I love that idea and thanks for sharing it. I am a very messy cook and hate cleaning the stove top. Anything that can help make that easier is a winner!
My wife asked me to post this for her:
