Looking for recommendations to stay for a while in June/July time frame in the Harrisburg, PA area.
In mid June we will be in the Harrisburg, PA area. Long story, but short version is we will be doing the RV Driving School in Carlisle after picking up our new Arctic Fox in West Milton, PA. For the first two weeks to make things simple for us we are going to be staying in "family oriented" & "more expensive" campgrounds. However, shortly after the driving school it seems to make sense for us to setup for a long term stay (a month or more) in this general area. There is a lot to do in this area that matches our interests, so now would be the time to stay here. At this time, I am not including running down to the Shenandoah area. I am thinking a more "quiet" and "natural" setting would be a good fit for us and our budget. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I have used a somee of the websites you would normally use as reference, but really haven't found anything. If anybody has a specific park/campground that is more nature than family/party park I would really like to hear about it. Most likely this is going to be a commitment a bit longer than I would prefer, but non the less something that must be done this year.

We have stayed at AOK in Jonestown. The monthly rates are reasonable and open all year. However, not a fancy park by any means. And the sites you would be put during winter months are close together. Jonestown is about 25 miles east of Harrisburg. There is also a KOA in Lickdale not far the there. Have not stayed there but looks to be nice.

We have not stayed there personally, but some RV friends of ours did for several months while he was working in the area. Try Starlite Camping Resort http://starlitecampingresort.com/index.html. It is in Stevens, PA, only about 40 miles from Harrisburg.

Thanks for the additional suggestions. The AOK in Jonestown does appear to have a good monthly rate. Will be checking that one and the Starlite resort out. I really appreciate it!
