Two years ago I purchased the Breville 650 based on all the amazing recommendations from all of you. I use it every day And I LOVE it.
There is a new model with a slow cooking function and I was wondering if anyone had it? Do you like the slow cooker function? I would love to get rid of my slow cooker like I did my toaster.

So it's a oven AND a slow cooker like a pressure cooker or crock-pot?? I did a short search and didn't find anything like that.

Do you have a link to it? I'm looking for a multi-cook option myself. We have a gas stove and have been talking about getting some induction cook tops to use instead.
I also plan on doing a lot of one dish dinners and a slow cooker would be awesome.
Thanks,

We love our slow cooker (crockpot) but you may want to look at the new Pressure Cookers that double as a slow cooker. I think that will be our next move.

If you do a search on this forum for Breville you will find some great reviews. It is so much more than a toaster oven, it is a mini oven. I love mine. It makes perfect toast and a great broiled steak plus everything in between. My DH hates propane so we removed our propane oven and replaced it with a Induction cooktop. No regrets! We do also have a micro/convection but I do not like the convection as it heats up the RV so much.
Even in our S & B we used the Breville instead of a full sized oven because it is the perfect size for a 2 person household.
Here is the Breville link. www.brevilleusa.com/cooking/ovens.html

The model we have is the Model 650 and it has settings for Roasting, Broiling, Baking, Toast plus presets for Bagels, Pizza, Cookies and a reheat. Baking temp goes up to 450 degrees and Broil on high is around 500 degrees.
I have made so many different food items over the last two years in mine. It has amazing reviews. I consider it one of my most valued items in the RV.
The new model which is Model 845 also has a interior light and slow cook option for up to 10 hours.
If I could get rid of my slow cooker like I have done with my toaster that would be great. I just wanted to know what pan I should use for the slow cooker mode.
----------
I am going to order my new one in a few days. I am sure I will love it as much as the model I have. I will put mine for sale on here once I get the new one.
If you are looking for great cookware try the Magma brand. They make induction cookware and the 10 piece set fits in approximately 12" X 12" space. Perfect for RVers.

Amen on that one…we use ours not daily but probably 5 times a week. The only trouble is that ours is 4.5 years old now and the bearings in the cheapey fan are bad…so it only turns about 200 rpm and makes a god-awful racket. My solution so far was to just not use the convection part…but now that I see there's a model that slow cooks I might have to get one.
We will be passing through our son/DIL's area in mid May so would be able to get a new one shipped there…since you're ordering one please slow cook something and put in a follow up post on how it cooks compared to a standard crockpot. My guess is that if it's a low temp cooking then putting stuff in there in a covered dish will be exactly like a normal crockpot…but since you're getting one anyways you can just do a little 'speriment for the rest of us.

I will be more than happy too experiment and let you know. My current Breville does not have the convection oven as we have one in the RV. I am not a big fan of convection as they heat up the RV. I am excited to try the Breville convection and see if it is better.

For baking rolls, cake or anything that has a crust the convection makes it brown more evenly and doesn't really seem to heat up the kitchen any more…it's just an internal fan to spread the heat around. For cooking a roast or something that you're not worried about browning evenly…having the convection on or off doesn't really make much difference.

I received the new Breville Pro and I am loving it. I used the slow cook function yesterday on low and it worked wonderfully. I used my magma pan (I need to get a better pan) put foil over it and then the lid. The BBQ chicken was moist and very tasty. If you need a new Breville and like slow cooking it is a winner.
