My name is Cary Andrews. My wife RaNae and I live just outside of Salt Lake City, UT. We're empty nesters quickly approaching retirement and have begun researching RVing full time. We've spent a good amount of time outdoors camping, boating, fishing, ATVing, and site seeing in our nearly 41 years of marriage. It's been a blast so far and now we're facing another new chapter of our lives coming up.
RV and outdoor shows are some of our favorite places to go and "dream". I can't count the times we've gone and almost purchased a boat or an RV, only to hold off for one reason or another. Now we find ourselves getting much closer to retirement, with a fairly decent financial portfolio, and we think this may be the time. Gotta be positive!
So, having owned pop-up, folding, and hybrid camp trailers before, we know we need an RV with a decent amount of space and can handle all kinds of weather. A fifth wheel seems like the way to go, but then we wonder if we should have a garage for our ATVs or go with more living space and forego the ATV while we travel more. We are thinking of spending a lot of time in the RV but may not go full time; since I'm still able to work and can consult in my chosen profession (software engineering/consulting), workamping is somewhat appealing to us. We also have other family members doing the workamping thing and they like it a lot.
Decisions, decisions, decisions. I'm very happy to have found RV-Dreams and look forward to associating with you great folks out there. I hope to cross paths with many of you over the next few years.
See ya!

Welcome! As fulltimers we weren't willing to lose 12' of living space for a garage so we chose to have a custom truck built to haul our ATV's. We're so glad we did, however it's not for everyone. Fellow RV Dreamers El Rojo and Pam purchased the Grand Design Momentum Toy Hauler last year and are extremely happy with it and the level of support Grand Design gives their customers. Good luck planning the next stage of your life!
