This morning I was taking a walk around the job site and spotted a coyote.
The job site is in the middle of one of the most populated areas in Southern California. It is on top of a hill so there is some open land with brush and trees.
In 10 years of coming to this site that is the first larger than a squirrel animal I've seen.
The tiny bit of American Indian in me recognizes this may have been my spirit animal trying to communicate with me. Unfortunately it ran as soon as it saw me....Guess I'll never know what it was trying to say to me.

The Bear II,
As a fellow partial American Indian, (25% with govt recognized tribal card) perhaps this will help as am sure probably would have sounded something like this: www.youtube.com/watch
"May the Coyote Spirit be with you!"

I still don't understand what they are saying....maybe I need to smoke a peace pipe and then listen.
Thanks for sharing.

Coyotes are all over the west. This is the first time you've seen them? Coyotes adapt quiet well to urban environments. We had a pair run past our coach when we were at the Coach Care facility in Elkhardt, Indiana. We've also encountered them in numerous places in California - - watched a doe defend her fawn by kicking at a coyote and chasing it near Gilroy, CA. Hear them all over areas of California and Arizona.
