Another couple went with us to PPL yesterday. First time visit for all of us. WOW!
First the good. There is a huge selection and prices seem reasonable. The greeter is excellent at juggling many things at once, and she must be able to remember everyone who has ever been there. She gives each group a map and a list of coaches. There are actually two lists, one for motorized and one for towable. They must print a new set of sheets daily, as one of the coaches we looked at was a new listing, and it was on the list but not on the map.
The bad. Most of the coaches are consignments, and some of them sure looked like they needed some cleaning/repair. For example, one trailer at first glance was missing the bathroom sink. When I looked closer, though, the plastic sink was in the cabinet along with various cleaning supplies. Another one had a broken shelf in the cabinet over the bed. It has been "repaired" at some point, and it looks like it might be strong enough to hold a small bag of cotton balls.

ppl is a consignment lot. The seller determines if PPL fixes or cleans it up. You can negotiate repairs in sale.

Agree, Glenn. Those sellers are going to be wondering why their coaches are still sitting with no nibbles when everything around them has moved two or three times. If sellers would look at their coaches with buyers' eyes they would take care of things. I understand that sometimes the coach goes to PPL because of the death of the owner, but then the sellers ought to be willing to pay PPL to clean things up.

Haven't bought an RV from PPL; but have purchased an Fantastic vent and the roof sealer to install it; a 10 gal electric/ gas water heater. Excellent shipping time; packaging and customer service on the phone ordering.
I can bet that if you were interested in one of those; which seems like minor repairs then PPL would get them fixed. Most RV dealers selling used units sell them "As Is" then offer an extended warranty to cover repairs unless one makes arrangements to get them repaired before they take ownership!

I have bought 9 elbow grease coaches from PPL for resale and all of them were worth it........as far as getting the repairs done there it a great bargaining chip!!!
They are great to deal with!! there is something for everyone and there price reflects everyones budget from handyman to the ready to fly type

We sold our 5th wheel there and it was a good experience. The buyer had them do a pre-purchase inspection and they did a good job for them. We have been to PPL many times just to look. Visiting PPL is a great way to figure out what is important to you as you walk through the different floor plans of their extensive inventory.

Yes, we really enjoyed the time there. Hmmm, this weekend is the Houston RV show. Pay for parking, then pay to get in, or go to PPL again. Have to give that a little bit of thought.

We bought our first coach from PPL. Very pleasant experience. Found a few things wrong, and it was reported to owner and they oked repair. It was clean. We also sold this same unit through PPL. Also good experience. I paid to have it professionally cleaned. It looked good. They hire an outside service for this. We also saw units unclean. We understand circumstances doesn't always allow some to put out money to sell their unit. If unit checks out good and the price reflects an unclean unit, we would pay to have it cleaned. A consignment is not a retail store. You are buying from individual owner/s. Just keep this in mind and I believe you will have a very good experience with PPL.
