I don't enjoy posting sad news. My only sister died yesterday AM! Yes she has been in the throes of dementia since around 2010 after her open heart surgery! I can't make it as the services are this Tuesday. It will be a somber time for me! Need some cheering up.

Echoing Dale & Ruth.
Pieere, we are saddened by your loss and it is somehow inadequate consolation that at least she no longer is suffering.
Bernie, we are sending our hopes for a speedy and happy return for your wife from the hospital.

So sorry for your loss, Pieere! I am not feeling very "Chiristmasy" this year either, nor did I last year. My 20 yr old nephew was killed in a car accident last Dec 16, so I know how a loss can dampen the holiday joy. I hope you find comfort in happy memories and can spend time with friends so you aren't alone.
Also wishing a speedy recovery for Trailerkings wife!

Pierre, my heart goes out to you. I lost my only sister two years ago during the holidays and while I love the holidays for my grandbabies sake, I am still saddened when I think of her being gone. It is no comfort to you know, but know that as each year passes you think more of those who are gone and the happy times you had with them and it makes the pain of losing them at least bearable.

Thanks folks for your replies! I will get by but it brought up a lot of disheartening memories! My Mom died of dementia; 2 other brothers and the oldest from a massive heart attack! My Dad of Colon Cancer! Being the age I am now; is not what I call the Golden Years!
Just have to face the music should they say!

I lost my brother just before Christmas in 2013 and then his wife this summer. Life goes on, but at Christmastime one feels the sadness more. So sorry for your loss, Pierre. Will keep you in prayers. Pat K

The worst part of it I was not able to attend her service; I was informed of her passing on the evening of Saturday the 20th and her services were Tuesday the 23rd. I will be going up hopefully this July to visit! The Champlain Valley/Lake Champlain area of NY is very unpredictable this time of year. They are getting their first measurable snow now!
Thank everyone for their support and just maybe my emotions have settled down a bit more now!

Pieere: Please take care of yourself and don't sit alone on New Years. Find a friend old or new and have a good meal and enjoy the conversations around you. I wish you energy and inspiration and the love of your friends.

Stayed home and cooked a meal for myself. I am better off by myself as if I needed to cry; scream or ......; I could without offending anyone! Guess that is why I am a single; LOL. I had done a small Peppercorn seasoned pork roast; green beans and a baked sweet potato. Watched some old retro movies and relaxed.
Well; Forward and onward to the New Year ahead of me and a 45 month survivor of a severe heart attack as of the 30th of December at 4:20 AM.
