Hey guys, need some help please. We are travelling from Charleston SC, to the San Antonio area of TX, starting Dec 6th. Hubby really wants to visit the big Aquarium in Atlanta, GA on the way. I have been trying all morning to find an RV park that has reasonable reviews, that we can stay at for 2 nights. No luck so far. Have any of you guys ever stayed in this area and could pass along any referrals? We will be continuing down towards Mobile, AL after that, so anywhere within a reasonable distance along this route would be great!
Thank you for any suggestions, I will keep searching too.

Jones RV Park in Norcross off of I-85 on the NE side of Atlanta. Basic overnight park. Easy on-off from I-85.

Not close to the aquarium but the KOA near Cartersville has been good. If you like aquariums, we like the one in Chattanoga, TN if you ever go that way.

Having lived in the Atlanta area, I can say that good CGs are slim pickings. And that includes anything along I-85 headed out of Atlanta. The only one that I personally would use is Stone Mountain Park Campground http://www.stonemountainpark.com/lodging-camping/camping.aspx
I assume you would be using I-20 from Charleston, in which case you would use I-285 loop on the east side of Atlanta and then Hwy 78 east. You could use Hwy 10 off I-285, but it's not enough of a short cut to put up with the traffic.
Sticking with the I-285 loop around Atlanta coming and going will be somewhat less traffic. But absolutely do not be on any highway in an RV in the Atlanta area before 9 am or after 3 pm unless you've had a bottle of blood pressure pills.

LOL, thanks TXRVr. We are in CA right now visiting folks, we fly back to IL on Monday, then drive home to SC from there on the 28th. We have heard from a lot of people that the one in TN is better, so we are taking a 'side trip' there on our way to SC. That means we don't have to take the RV anywhere nr ATL on our trip with the 'big house' on the way to TX
