Hello. I am new to this forum. After trying to find a good resource online I decided I would join here and get some honest opinions. We are in search of our 3rd and hopefully final 5th wheel. We plan to fulltime (hopefully soon) and are upgrading accordingly. I have researched the Heartland Cyclone/Road Warriors and the Keystone Raptor/Fuzion. (Although the size of these scare me). I am torn between the manufactures. Both have plans that would work great for us and cost seems relatively comparable. Any information offered will be greatly appreciated.

We have a Heartland Landmark - not familiar with the specific models you are looking at, but we love our 5er! Heartland has been great to deal with, hubby sends them an email with whatever we need and they send it! Guess I should mention Bill likes to fix things himself, if he can, rather than bring it somewhere or have someone come to us.
We brought it home March 2014 and been full-time since Aug 2014. No major issues!

Thank you jrzygrl64! That is great to hear. I am hopeful that they would put the same quality in the toyhaulers as they would the 5ers. I am really seeking information on the service and quality, so hearing that you are satisfied is great news! I am super nervous making such a large investment before exploring as much as possible. Super excited to full-time and hoping we make the right decisions along the way.

We have a Landmark also, since June 2011 and fulltime for almost three years now. We have had great luck with Heartland and love our rig.
You might look at the Momentums at Grand Design. We bought the 380 and love it. It's been one of our best RV's we ever owned. Great customer service. Not knocking the other brands just adding a 3rd.

Grand Design is rated for "extended stay" according to their website. Heartland rates and warrants the Landmark, Big Horn and Big Country for full time use and even though the Cyclone toy hauler is not listed, they have never penalized an owner for living full time in their unit. Heartland has been long known for their customer service.

Not sure why they list it as "extended stay" They (management at Grand Design) know we are Full Time but never once acted like it was a problem or concern for warranty items. Matter of fact we send our news letter to one of the VP's. I asked the customer service rep when our original Solitude was approaching it's 1 year anniversary if they were going to drop me like a hot potato and his comment was "if it wore out it's on you, if it wasn't right from the factory it's on us". I will tell you at the Rally in Elkhart IN last Aug., They had 6 techs on the ground for 4 days making any repairs requested free of charge for anybody there.

If we ever get a new rig, I would want that kind of support. Such "word of mouth" is priceless for the manufacturer and is usually in their best interest to live up to. Red, I'm glad you have had a great experience.

I think the quality of the toy haulers will be comparable. But being a Keystone owner, I have to say I believe that Heartland's customer service and owners club/community is much better. We've worked Keystone Montana rallies and Heartland rallies, and while Keystone takes good care of the owners at the Montana rallies when they are held near their headquarters in Goshen, IN, what we have seen at Heartland rallies (no matter where they were held) has been much more robust.
It is my opinion that Heartland also listens to their customers a bit better. All things being equal on price and construction and floorplan, I would lean a little toward Heartland. But I wouldn't rule out Keystone if their toy hauler worked better for your plans - Keystone doesn't have the best selling fifth wheel in the country for 14 straight years for nothin'. :)

I was completely sold on Heartland and then researched Grand Design. I was impressed regarding the reviews regarding service!!! But then, we found the perfect plan for our needs and fell in love with a Dutchmen Voltage. Reviews aren't so great, but the unit amazing. I hope we make the right choice.

Hello Otter girl. Overall we are pleased with our decision. We have had some repairs done and the service has been excellent. Our dealer is key in this process, but Keystone has been very accomidating and has approved all of our repairs. Definitely expect that there will be things that don't meet your expectations, plan on making some changes to meet your needs and pick a good dealership to work with. Good luck!!!!

If you haven't found it already, there is a very active Heartland owners forum. heartlandowners.org/forum.php
