Since many of us in the dreamers class are experiencing their one year on the road anniversary, I took a stab at blogging about folks I've kept up with and included some basic statistics on the class. Although I know it doesn't include every couple, I went ahead and posted it at http://camperchronicles.com/2015/10/03/class-of-2014-eighteen-month-update/ in order to have a starting place.
Based on the 15 couples I have some knowledge of I have gathered the following stats
Most of the couples have been married 25 years or more.
The average age of the couples is in their Mid-50’s
It’s about a 50/50 split on kids versus no kids.
Most of the couples have pets and there are more cats than I expected.
Almost everyone has traveled to see family in their first year
Most couples have spent over a month with either an elderly parent or a child.
26% of the group have replaced their rigs since starting.
33% of the group have needed truck or RV repairs that were extensive enough to require a change to travel plans and an extended stay in an area. (This really surprises me as well, but I do think it is an accurate representation of the lifestyle.)
25% of the group have at least one person working full time.
60% of the group have social security or pension as their main source of income.
33% of the group have significant investment income.
46% of the group have done a work kamping job.
100% of the group is still on the road!!
I think as a group we are an interesting case study on what this lifestyle looks like and this is not idle curiosity but an opportunity to provide some statistical information to those who come after us. Plus it's fun keeping up with people. I would love to include everyone who is interested so if I missed you and you would like to join in please email me a short summary of your year, blog address (if applicable) and the answers to the questions below. My email address is camperchronicles@gmail.com. Again if your not interested please ignore me :)
How long have you been married?
Roughly how old are you?
Do you have kids?
Do you have pets? Cat? Dogs? Other?
Have you spent more than a month with a parent or child the first year?
Have you replaced your rig?
Have you had extensive RV and/or truck repairs the first year that necessitated changing your travel plans and an extended stay near a repair facility?
Are you working on the road full time?
Is social security or pension your main source of income?
Do you have a significant amount of investment income?

Great job Trace! Thanks for the summary about The Class of 2014! We learned a lot at the 2014 RV-Dreams Spring Rally, but more importantly we came away with many new friendships.
