Hello folks.. Been a while. Still full timing..Still here in FL. Bought a property for the winters, and have been working on setting it up for life.... mostly.
Have a scenario maybe some can help me with it?
I have a warehouse that is connected via century link internet with wifi. One of the houses is about 200ft away. I want to utilize the century link wifi in the house. Who make the best solution for that? A quick search brought up 100's of wifi extenders.. Both directional and non directional.
I have a very weak signal in the house on my phone... But just bought 2 4k smart TV , and direct tv is coming weds to install the new dish..I also sell on ebay .. so alot of uploading will be put through the wifi extender.. so I would like a solid solution.
Any info will be helpful..
Thanks in advance
Steve

Steve, I would put in a real AP on the outside of the warehouse. Use a directional antenna pointed to the house. This will give you the very best results you can get. If they house is metal you will have an issue, though. But since you can see the signal with your phone I would guess it is not.
What I would recommend is the Ubiquity Nanostation m2 hp. LINK
This is commercial gear, not oriented to non-professionals. But it is pretty easy to set up as an AP. You would just plug it into any LAN port on your router and run ethernet to the outside of the warehouse. You inject power over the ethernet to power it.
There are some online tutorials to help you configure, but I'll walk you through it if you want.

Thank you.
I just checked back.. Unforunuately for me, I have already found a solution. Grabbed a netgear nighthawk range extender, put it in the house.
Seems to be working great for the internet.. But my direct tv and the smart tv seems to be dropping connection from time to time.. May be a directv thing..
